Witty Ticket Application

With an understanding of making use of any possible facility that science and technology offers, the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has applied the fare collecting and the automated ticketing system in the public transportation.
Fare collecting and the automated ticketing system project was ordered by the Maintenance Office (Makina İkmal Daire Başkanlığı) on 21.09.2000 and a contract was signed on 24.10.2000. An amount of 281.525 Euro + VAT was supplied by the Municipality’s own resources. And an amount of 1.458.475 Euro + VAT was supplied through Leasing. Thus, the system has been set up with a total cost of 1.740.000 Euro + VAT in a building in Karpuzatan.
Fare collecting and the automated ticketing system set up in Kayseri allows the usage of both the magnetic cards and the proximity cards. This system was first applied in Kayseri throughout Turkey.

Proximity Card Usage in the Public Transportation

The period of lower costs through technological facilities is carried on by the usage of the proximity cards.Besides the credit loadable cards, The Municipality now offers the proximity cards.
Paying TL 5. 000. 000 in lieu of the proximity card, any townsman can travel cheaper after having loaded the desired sum of credits.
For the time being, the owners of the proximity cards can only have their cards loaded with credits in Municipality’s Meydan, Hunat, Alemdar and Hunat-Alemdar box offices. In time, the towns people can have their cards loaded in as many box offices as the number of the card owners increases.
The usage of the proximity card is easier and faster than the magnetic cards, which are used extensively. Holding their cards as close as 10 cm to the validators in the busses, the card owners can perceive the amount of remaining credits on the screen.
And at the same time, together with a short beep sound a green light will come on meaning that the passenger is allowed to get on.  When lessened, the card can be reloaded in the box offices. The proximity cards provide a cheaper trip as compared to the magnetic cards.
 

Modern Bus Stops

Being renewed, the bus stops in the town have a modern appearance. Belonging to the advertisement companies, the bus stops were built in accordance with the “Build-Run-Hand over” project. In addition, the Office of Income Management charges a fee for the advertisements.

The Maintenance Office produces the carcasses of the bus stops in its own workshop then they are used in the certain places in the town.

The Fast-Bus Service

The Bus Operation Office provides buses in the rush hour from Belsin to the city centre; from the city centre to Belsin. Taking the passengers from the major bus stops without stopping at the minor ones in order to provide a faster transportation to the townsmen.

Single Ticket Application

The Bus Operation Office provides the townsmen to travel from their homes to Erciyes University paying just for a single ticket and without taking another bus. Residents from 22 different parishes can make use of this facility. The line from Belsin Beyazşehir to Cırgalan Beyazşehir, which is approximately 25 km, can be traveled using just one single ticket.
